About us
Rythmix Cultural Works
PAL is a curriculum-based youth arts education program developed in 2012 in collaboration with the Alameda Unified School District (AUSD). PAL is intended to foster awareness about world cultures and empower underserved youth through exposure to educational music and dance assemblies. By bringing students to RCW, they will have the opportunity to see, perhaps, their first professional performance in a theater setting, as well as support local artists.
Best of 2014The PAL program is designed to provide a cross-section of music and dance traditions from cultures around the world, performed by artists of the highest caliber. Partnering with AUSD, and later in 2013 with the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD), to provide multicultural experiences not offered elsewhere in the community enables RCW to expand its outreach, create more value as a community resource and build stronger ties to a more diverse population. RCW believes that exposure to the arts can be a transformative experience and a catalyst for cultural celebration.
Thanks to the belief in the power of arts education and generous support from RCW's funders including the Alameda Education Foundation (AEF), Kiwanis Club of Alameda, the Perforce Foundation, the Quest Foundation, the Rotary Club of Alameda, the Thomas J. Long Foundation, and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, PAL programming has been provided at no cost to participating schools since its inception in 2012.
