Learning a musical instrument is an exciting endeavor. Whether or not one goes on to perform professionally, knowing how to play an instrument and to read music can provide enjoyment that will continue throughout all stages of life.

I offer piano lessons to serious students of all ages at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.

During the past 7 years, I have taught piano at the Sacred Heart School in Yonkers, N.Y. and am currently teaching at the Sleepy Hollow school in Orinda, CA. I have found that patience, humor, and willingness to impart my passion, for music has been instrumental in forming a strong rapport with my students.

I have worked as a professional jazz musician for the past 30 years, touring the U.S., Europe, and Japan, as well as performing at such New York venues as Yoshi's The Blue Note, Village Vanguard, and Alice Tully Hall. As a first call pianist in the Bay Area I believe I am an excellent choice as a teacher. In addition I offer beginning and classical piano lessons.

I am passionate about music, and I have an easy-going, patient style. I have a flexible schedule, and I can travel to your house, or have you come to mine.

I have had success with several students who have began as adults. I believe all it takes is a willingness to practice and as well an understanding that patience is rewarded - musical fulfillment comes at all levels.
