    LIL' SPURS

    Values

Tottenham Hotspur East Bay (THEB) has three core values:

    Player Development
Enabling the healthy, respectful, and responsible enjoyment of sport, for the youth of our community. Through sports, helping young people to become healthier, more respectful, more responsible, and happier members of the community.

At the center of every decision are the kids—all the kids—and their development in all the areas described above.

    Player Health & Safety
Making sure they are safe, teaching them how to play safely, and showing them how to be safe.

We are caregivers and role models of safe and healthy living as much as we are coaches.

    Community
Bringing people together around shared goals; modeling and promoting community values and norms of positive, desirable behavior in everything we do.

The relationships we form and the community‐oriented behavior that we nurture through youth soccer carry over into other aspects of our community life, strengthening it as a whole.

These are the values that the families we serve have indicated are most important to them, and that we must always get right.

    Mission

THEB’s mission is to provide a youth soccer experience differentiated by the organization’s faithfulness to its core values of Player Development, Player Health & Safety, and Community.

Most youth sports organizations promote similar values, but claiming them and living them are two different things.

THEB's mission is simply to be successful at consistently putting its core values at the center of every decision. Achieving this alone will be a compelling differentiator of the club’s programs.

    Strategy

THEB will maintain a strong emphasis on its core values through a combination of

    Principles/Policies/Guidelines
Rules defining key ways in which the Club must operate in order to achieve its objectives in alignment with its values.

    Communication/Reporting
The regimented sharing of key information to ensure that important issues and decision‐making get higher visibility and oversight.

    Education/Awareness
Reinforcing our values, policies, and guidelines, and explaining why we have them and how they work. Turning the achievements and failures of individuals into teaching moments for the rest of the Club

The tone of execution must be positive, and create a supportive atmosphere where everyone is rallying around a common set of goals and where it’s ok to fail.
